Brandt Russo, the Homeless Jesus, is 24 and a native of southern Louisiana. He lives on the streets dumpster diving for food, feeding the homeless, and teaching local church people to do the same via his vegetable oil bus. Critical Mass is a bicycling event typically held on the last Friday of every month. The ride was founded in 1992 with the idea of drawing attention to how unfriendly the city was to bicyclists. In fact, the purpose of Critical Mass is not formalized beyond the direct action of meeting at a set location and time and traveling as a group through city or town streets on bikes.
